Congratulations go out to the members of the University of Colorado Men’s Varsity Hockey team, who finished seventh at the ACHA National Tournament in Fort Myers, Florida from March 12th to 15th. With 162 collegiate programs participating in ACHA Division II, CU was honored to be among the top 16 teams that qualified for participation in this year’s Championship Games.

The CU Hockey team during the national anthem on Senior night Voted first place in five consecutive ACHA ranking periods this year, the CU Buffs earned an automatic bye to the 2008 National Championships and join the previous 2002-2003 and 2004-2005 Men’s DII Hockey Teams as ACHA West Regional Champions. CU Alumni Hockey Game… Calling all past University of Colorado Ice Hockey players, coaches, and managers who are still able to lace up their skates and put the puck in the net!! The CU Buffs want to invite you to participate in our spring semester Alumni Game that is scheduled to be played on campus at the Rec Center Ice Rink, Saturday March 1st at 9:30 PM. Be part of the team again, enjoy the on ice excitement, and help student athletes who are currently in the skates you were years ago.

Last weekend was the final regular season weekend for the #1 Colorado Buffaloes Hockey team as they took on the #2 Eastern Washington Eagles on Friday and the Metro State Roadrunners on Saturday. The Buffs won both games, beating the Eagles in a thrilling 3-2 game and the Roadrunners by a score of 6-2.

The University of Colorado's No. 1 ranked club hockey team split a two-game series with rival Colorado State over the weekend. On Friday, students, fans, and parents packed into the CU Ice Arena at the Student Recreation Center in hopes to see the No. 1 Buffs defeat the No. 4 Rams. Unfortunately, they would go home disappointed, losing by a score of 4-2. The mood was considerably more upbeat on Saturday, when the Buffs skated all over the Rams, 7-3.

Come catch the excitement of the annual Rocky Mountain Face Off as it returns to Boulder the weekend of Febuary 8th and 9th. The home and home series will feature your 1st place ranked Colorado Buffaloes against Face Off rivals Colorado State. The puck drops at 7:30 PM at the CU Rec Center Friday night, admission is free with student ID. Saturday night will be at 7:30 PM in Fort Collins. GO BUFFS!

Max Myers with the puck in a home game this year In a hospital room overlooking the East River in the Manhattan borough of New York City, Pam Myers sat at her son’s bedside while he soundly slept at the New York City Hospital for Special Surgery. True to the name of the hospital, her son Max Myers had successfully endured a special surgery on his collarbone the previous day. The operation was a very high risk and potentially fatal endeavor that his surgeon, Dr. David Altchek, said would put Myers in medical journals.

The #1 CU Hockey team moved their unbeaten streak to eight games after two big wins last weekend against the Oregon Ducks and the Denver Pioneers. The Buffs are currently 18-1-3 for the season and are first in the ACHA West Standings
